Hi All,

Saturday the 10th of april....No 30 centimeters of snow in Koln this time...finally Silhouette played in Germany and what a night it was! At 20h sharp the first notes of Concert Hangover filled the air in the Yard Club. A bit nervous at the start, but after the heart warming applause from the audience Silhouette played like never before!

Silhouette played a 65 minute show thanks to the kind Martigan proggers, who played a 3 hour show themselves. Symphoshop and Background magazine were present and witnessed a very special night.

Silhouette setlist:

Far away
Another bedtime story
Long Distance
Anybody
Second time down
Unreal meeting
The answers

Positive review in Magazine Oor

Silhouette is very proud with the positive review of Moods in the leading dutch pop/rock magazine Oor.

"The second album of Silhouette from Utrecht has been released by the Swedish Progress Records, which shows that it’s a band with ambition. And they completely live up to these ambitions in the 78 minutes of Moods. Twelve songs about the Big Questions of Life, performed by four capable musicians, which show a clear preference for melodic progrock. Not of the predictable kind, they are too versatile for that. On the one hand there is a sublime interplay between Erik Laan (keyboards, also producer) and Brian de Graeve (guitar, also lyrics), and on the other hand also the catchy multi-vocal singing (like in the song Feeling God that works out very well).

Also, working with different lead vocalist gives a welcome differentiation. And that Silhouette not only is taking resort to elaborate instrumental duels, is proven by the glorious Second Time Down, with four minutes the shortest track of Moods. The mixing and mastering of Gerben Klazinga (Knight Area) gives this second album a fuller and riper sound in comparison with their debut album A Maze. After four years, the time seems to have come for Silhouette; it is the first band that has been invited for Progfarm 2010, a very promising start. FRANS STEENSMA"

Gigs in 2010

For Silhouette, 2010 will be a year full of gigs, including one or two in Germany. This is the current state of affairs:

* On April 10th Silhouette will play as support act to Martigan in Köln, Germany. This is the postponed gig due to heavy snowfall on January 30th. More details:  http://www.martigan.de/englisch/index.htm

* On May 8th we will do a duo-gig with Royalty of Mayhem in JJ Music House in Zoetermeer: http://www.jjmusichouse.nl/site/index.php?page=agendaItem&id=330

* On September 11th, we will do a duo-gig with Leap Day in Drachten, in Iduna. Check: www.leapday.nl  en www.iduna.nu.

* On November 6th we will play at the Progfarm Festival in Bakkeveen.

* On November 20th we plan to do a gig together with Leap Day in Azotod, in de Meern, (near Utrecht), where we will play Moods in its entirety.

* We also hope to play in Belgium and perhaps the UK. But we still need some contacts. So if you are from one of these countries and are interested to organize something with us: please let us know!

Also: please visit our site every now then to ensure you know in time where and when we play.

In the meantime we already can tell you that the writing process of our next album has started. The fundamentals of three brand new songs have already seen the light, while we also will put the song "Anybody" (we play that one live already for years!) on this album. If we continue like this, we might be able to release this album in 2011.

Silhouette's Moods high in 2009 charts

As the end of 2009 approaches, many radio stations and websites are making up their favorite lists for 2009. It seems that in the Netherlands we are doing quite well! After Moods reached the top ten on Progwereld in November, on December 27th it also reached number 5 in radio Symphoshop's "Best of 2009 list"(Check  http://symphoshop.webs.com/ ). See the photo below for an impression of the great party Symphoshop organised when broadcasting their top 25: Brian and Erik were there with their sons Geoffrey, Bart and Arjan (the new upcoming prog generation!). Also you can see Gerben Klazinga en Mark Vermeulen (Knight Area) as well as the Symphoshop staff.

Moods also reached the top ten on "Progressive x Grooves radio" on Rosa FM. Check:  http://www.rosafm.nl/.

And last but not least: Moods was number 6 in the 2009 chart of www.symfocity.nl.

Voting is still going on on DPRP's 2009 poll. So if you like Moods: please vote for us on: http://www.dprp.net/dprpoll/2009/index.php
